Mansfield District Council with the support of emda have commissioned this study to explore the development potential of an area between St Peters Way, Ratcliffe Gate and Brunt Street to the East of Mansfield Town Centre.

The council and its partners are looking at how this area could be redeveloped to take advantage of the River Maun to exploit possible commercial development opportunities and to bring back an area of riverside parkland which it is hoped will provide a pleasant pedestrian route between the town centre from any new development that happens at the old Mansfield Brewery Site.

Mansfield District Council has received funding from the East Midlands Development Agency (emda) to look at options for possible development of this site. And is working with Atkins consultants to investigate options.    

  Atkins have produced a project plan for the regeneration of     

  Mansfields Riverside.

The 9th July 2008 saw the first event at Chadburn House where initial ideas were investigated. Information from this presentation can be requested via the email address below.

Following this event Atkins have continued to develop project ideas which have resulted in 4 development options which were launched at a stakeholder meeting on Friday 26th September. The options were available to view in the cafe area of Making It! Located next to Chadburn House, Littleworth, Mansfield until Friday 3rd October and can be requested via the below email address.

The comments recieved from this consultation process (download here) along with further evidence being derived from on going financial appraisal and Flood Risk Assessment (FRA) work will help determine a preferred option which we will release fir further consulation later in the autumn.
