The M1 serves the town at Junctions 27, 28 and 29 providing excellent links to the town. The A617 and A1 provide invaluable north-south links, which are reinforced by the A38, A617 and A60.
Recent new road investment includes Mansfield's southern bypass linking the A60 Nottingham Road to Southwell Road West, and a western bypass in two sections; the first will link the A38 (King's Mill Road) to the A60 (Nottingham Road).
All the Midlands' big cities; Birmingham, Nottingham, Derby, Leicester, are within easy striking distance by road and the central location enables straightforward links to anywhere in the country. For travel information and help with planning routes please view the AA or RAC websites.
The Robin Hood Line connects Mansfield 7 days a week to the Nottingham and Worksop, and from here nationally. Nottingham also offers a direct service into London St. Pancras, which is home to Eurostar and services into Europe.
Full customs facilities are available at Sutton International Freight Terminal, just 10 minutes' drive from the town, which provides the major rail link to the Continent via the Channel Tunnel.
Being located in the centre of the country, many airports are within easy reach. Mansfield's closest airport, East Midlands offers flights domestically, into Europe and worldwide, with complimentary services from the other airports. Additionally East Midlands airport also offers a large freight and cargo carrying capacity, and being located so close to Mansfield, UK transport costs will be kept to a minimum making expansion into Europe and beyond more affordable.
Mansfield offers good access to the following ports of which all are within a two hours' drive of Mansfield. Ensuring freight, cargo and passenger shipments to Continental Europe and beyond are easily achieved.
The bus infrastucture in Mansfield is well developed and connects smaller areas with the main service centre of Mansfield, the current bus network is operated by Stagecoach and Trent buses. There are also numerous services to other near-by towns and cities and nationally via the National Express.
The current open air bus station is due to be relocated next to the train station creating the new Transport Interchange. This will give Mansfield an excellent, high tech and transport hub which will serve the town and district into the future.
