Access

Mansfield has an excellent transport infrastructure in place to take advantage of its centre of the Country location.

Road

The M1 serves the Mansfield District at junctions 27, 28 and 29 providing excellent links to both the north and south of the county.

Mansfield's central position means that the bulk of the country can be accessed within a 3 hour drive and this natural advantage is further enhanced by recent road and communication improvements.

The Mansfield Ashfield Regeneration Route (MARR) has further improved inter-connectivity within the district and opened up development sites.

Rail

The Robin Hood Line connects Mansfield with Worksop to the north and Nottingham to the south. Nottingham offers direct service to cities across the country including London St. Pancras, which is home to Eurostar and services into Europe.

Phase 2 of the high speed rail network which will link the West Midlands to Manchester and Leeds may also bring future opportunities to the district.

Bus

The bus infrastucture in Mansfield is well developed and connects smaller areas with the main service centre of Mansfield, the current bus network is operated by Stagecoach and Trent buses. There are also numerous services to other near-by towns and cities and nationally via the National Express.

The current open air bus station is due to be relocated next to the train station creating the new Transport Interchange. This will give Mansfield an excellent, high tech and transport hub which will serve the town and district into the future. More information on the Transport Interchange can be found on the Nottinghamshire County Council website http://www.nottinghamshire.gov.uk/home/traffic_and_travel/buses/busstations/mansfieldbusstation.htm
